PW 50 Help Please

Recommended Posts

Haven't had it running in about a year. Put gas in and it starts, idles, and revs just fine with the choke on. Turn the choke off and it starts to bog. If I can rev it out it before stalling it's fine but as soon as I let off the gas it bogs and dies. Any suggestions?

Shaun

I just went through the exact same thing with my kids pw50. It was the pilot jet. After it the jet was clean I could see daylight through it. I also cleaned the the rest of the carb. Use carb cleaner and blow air through all the little holes.

I clean the carb on ours everytime it sits or gets a bath. The jets are so small and the carb gets water in it easily. The pdub doesnt like water in the on/off switch either. It might be easier to remove the air cleaner and put a bag over the carb when cleaning. Even if they sit for a month it will run better when you clean the carb. Put in a 67.5 main jet while you have it apart.
