booging problem

hey all,

Got a 1980 250 2 smoke with a booging problem

idles fine runs great at mid throttle but once you go

full throttle it starts booging.

its got a new top end new carb and took the points out and put on cdi.

any thoughts

floats set too low. and or, too lean on top. set ur floats and try raising needle a position. my .02

I am a bit concerned. In 1980 the only 2 strokes Honda made were the CR motocross bikes. The 1980 CR250 did not have points, it was electronic ignition by that time. Not sure what points you removed and replaced with electronic ignition.

Top end bogging sounds like you have either a clogged main jet, fix it by cleaning it; or your jetting is way too rich, fix that problem by rejetting.
