450R head on 450x?

I read allot of baja racers use the R head and valves on the x?

If so what heads fit the 07 450X?

secondly could you run the R CDI? to boost the power curve?

thirdly will any 450r motor bolt directly in??

current mods

air box cut

smog block off kit

02 r cam

jd jet kit

drd pipe

pink wire disconnected

They use it because it is 'already ported'.

so a good porting should do the trick?

Any thoughts on a r motor that would bolt in.

I am thinking to lose weight and gain hp.

It's not a bolt in operation, and you would gain, what....?

Purchasing an R would faster, and you would not have a garage with two bastardized bikes with low value on your hands.

Don't understand what your goal is here......

Put a r cam in the x also r head pipe jet kit air box mod and let r rip that is what it take to make the x a solidwoods weapon and Moto junkie power.

So far only thing left to do is port and polish or big bore. I have heard allot of bad things about the big bores.

I also heard a more modern cam like a 07 stage 3 cam will rev quicker and produce better power than my 02 r cam?

There is no cam with more lift and duration than the '02 cam.

If you goal is 'More', then you need a stage III port and polish and high compression piston, to see another step up in power. You will also get harder starting, a need for race gas, and more temperamental carb tuning.

Again I ask, what is your goal?

just looking for more power.

I still have a hard time running down the moto bikes in the open stuff.

In steep, tech, or rocky races the x blows them away but open deasert it just comes up short.

My stock KX is faster than my highly modd'ed X, until you get to over 55mph stuff. It always will be, cause it's 40 + lbs lighter.

CRF450X (52/289)

power to weight ratio (horsepower - pounds) = 0.17993079584775

KX450 (56/242)

power to weight ratio (horsepower - pounds) = 0.23140495867769

That's a 26% higher P to W ratio

You'd have to get 67 HP out of the X to match the stock KX.
