New Plastics and Graphics

Recommended Posts

I'm about to replace all of my plastic on my bike and put new graphics on. It's a 2002 yz125 by the way. Any suggestions on colors or graphics kits? Thanks.

Pick up a 2006-2012 plastic kit instead of the 2002-2005 kit. Make sure your graphics are correct for that style of plastic kit. The '06+ front fender and number plate make the bike look a little better.

The rear fender, radiator shrouds and side number plates are the same.

The new style front fender will bolt on with zero mods.

The new style front number plate can be installed fairly easily.

Search the forum for some great posts and pictures of how to make it fit.

If you buy fork guards, the later model 2006-2012 guards won't bolt on to your 2002 forks. Light Speed makes plastic ones that look like the 2006+ guards but bolt on to the older forks.

Man my cr got black plastics off the bat. Love them, but I think black or white is always dope. Yam blue always looks great too but it's just so played out.

Honestly, white plastics with a blue graphic kit would be sooooo dope. That way you keep the yamaha look but it's not just the typical blue. Do like a 80% white 20% blue thing, that way all the extras (bar pad, grips, hoses, etc.) can be blue and it would be a badass contrast. Obviously you can't go green, yellow, or red.

I like all kinds of graphic kits. I dont really have a favorite.

As for plastics you have all kinds of choices. UFO, Acerbis, maier, Polisport, cycra, and stock.

i think you can maybe do the mod for the new style fenders that the four strokes have but im not very sure. Or possibly you can use the fenders that the current Yamaha smokers have. Someone help me out with this one:excuseme:

i think either the newer style fenders for the new mors will bolt up or the holes line up differently and you have to use the drill.

As for graphics: Most of these links i have looked your bike up already

dont do black. It looks old real quick and its just to Metal Melisha which in my opinion is not racer like and resale value takes a nose dive. Stock with stock graphics keeps your steed new like and classy. If your looking for different then just by a Husky or Aprillia. Thats just my opinion.
