Head leaking

Recommended Posts

just noticed the head is leaking a far amount of oil, after a week or so of sitting there'll be enough oil dripped onto the exhaust to make quite a show once it warms up. What's the procedure for replacing the head gasket? and can it be done with standard tools?

No special tools needed. The manual has a fairly decent explanation in section 3 1 thru 10.

You will either need to piece together a top end gasket and seal set or buy the complete engine set from Suzuki. Having all the gaskets around is not a bad idea for doing the NSU screws, yanking the stator cover or shifting cover in the future. Make sure to purchase the cam journal end plug seal (which does not come in the kit).

Have fun.

Are you sure it's the head gasket and not the cam cover gasket or valve cover o-ring on the exhaust side?
