Shock shaft holding tool

Does anyone recomment one of this tools, i know racetech makes one for various sizes, but i heard they may kink shafts or damping rods...so am on the look for a better design

Its easy to build by yourself.

Take a block of aluminum, drill the holes you need. For shocks mostly 16 and 18 mm.

Then you have to have a accurate saw, which cuts it into two nice halfes.

Maybe the loss of material by the cutting is enough to clamp the rod. If not, tear on half a bit with a belt sander.

i personally use and would recomend the racetech tool.just dont get carried away trying to remove the nut.take your time and make sure that you do a good job removing the peens.if you can make a shaft holding tool,it will save you a few bucks,plus the self satisfaction you get out of it is pretty cool.peace and wheelies!!!
