Headlight

Recommended Posts

So looking at my 2011 450 XC-W I noticed that while there is a high beam bulb in the headlight, but it is not wired into the electrical system. Meaning, I followed the wire from the back side to the connector and on the motorcycle side connector there isn't a wire.

Did they put in a small stator, then figured that they didn't have enough power to run the high beam so they just pulled the wire?

You have approx 80 watts AC at the headlight, plenty to run the high beam in that bulb. You would need to add a switch to take advantage of it..

like most bike manufactures, lights are a second thought particularly on off road models..
