chrome vs. painted rims?

Recommended Posts

Hi, my nephew wants a pitbike and I'm thinking about getting him one for X-mas. Some models come with chrome rims and some painted. Aside from the obvious that one is chrome and one isn't, is there anything that makes one better than the other or is it just personal preference in looks? Thanks.

Chrome won't chip easy like the painted one's will. Since you live in Nevada they won't rust as fast if the chrome does chip. Even if the painted one's chipped you can buy a paint pen to fix it. I had some rusted out rims powder coated once and never had a single problem with them.

To answer your ? tho if they're both steel,I guess preference.I like chrome.

Put a magnet to it and see if it sticks to find out if it's steel or not.
