Dr650 gsxr mod questions

Recommended Posts

So I finally took the plunge and bought me a gsxr pipe and mid pipe from keihnin. As I was ordering the mid pipe the lady said I would need to rejet for this mod. I was wondering if this is necessary because I would like to keep my current mpg.

If your machine is bone stock you will not need to rejet installing the GSXR system.... certainly not the main jet anyway. The air box is by far the most restrictive component and is what limits the AFR. The stock Buick muffler only becomes the restriction point once the air box is opened along with the proper jetting to match.

It's possible a slight amount of shim will be required under the clip but I would run it stock first to see how she runs....

LOL!... Wait, seriously? OK... go for any color "high temp" RTV. The Permatex Ultra Copper has one of the highest temp ratings but any "high temp" RTV will work. You do need to let it cure over night before cranking up your machine though.... Damn!
