When I turn my bars to the right, there is a sticking or binding, resistance to the initial turn from the straight ahead position.

You only feel it when riding the bike and trying to turn, if bike is on stand or no weight the bars turn as normal, no stuck cables or resistance just free turning over the whole range of movement.

Sounds like head bearings, try unbolting you HPSD, then you can narrow it down!

time to inspect , grease or replace .

dont forget the swingarm / linkage as well

All Asian bikes are shipped with less then required lubrication on all the exposed bearings. The fear of having a drop of grease on the floor of the shipping container (EPA inspection) is so strong, they eliminate the possibility.

You have to re-grease everything correctly, especially the linkage.

My money is still on the cables. This happened to me not too long ago. It was my throttle cables just being a little too tight and caught on a bracket.

I am with Pumpkin. Start taking things off one at a time and rule them out. Cables first then down

Cables are fine, bearings getting replaced this weekend.

Removed the bearings and sure enough they are toast, in fact they were actually black. Factory grease only in there of course.

Also fitted a braided line and new pads, brakes are better but it's not as huge an improvement as I thought it might be.

Moved the forks up the clamps by 10mm, she turns even better now.

Roll on the next lot of improvements.
