New to SF kind of--Move from Los Angles 2 years ago, I've been without a bike ever since. Now that I have a place with a garage, its time to buy a 450. I'm looking for tracks to ride If anybody has a link that would be great and what tracks too avoid.

Thank you for the link. I was also PM a link to dirtlink.net which looks good too. Any opinions on a track with good? soil and track prep

I don't ride tracks...but people seems to like 408MX in San Jose, I'm total they do excellent prep.

408 isnt that bad. Nothing like arena cross, but not like hangtown or a national track. Very forgiving jumps and a shit ton of fun. When there isnt a harescramble to run.

There are a few tracks to hit up.

Argyll in Dixon http://argyllmx.com/

Club Moto in Livermore http://www.clubmoto.com/

The Hollister track only runs during racing events.

Metcalf Offroad Park has a track. Southbay Riders Forum has a good page on them:

http://www.southbayriders.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10805

Go further south and you can hit up a crown jewel - Zaca Station

http://www.rcramer.com/racing/tracks/zaca_station.html

North of SF you can hit up tracks in Marysville

MMX - http://mmxracing.com/

Estreet - http://www.estreetmx.com/

Sandhill isn't really considered that well around here. They don't prep very good if at all, not sure if they have a website

That should tide you over

The Garrahan's are holding open ride days at the Hollister track quite often.

If you are interested, send me a PM and I'll forward you the emails they send

me.

I occasionally go to Club Moto and it is awesome.

I've been to 408MX once in San Jose and it was the best track I've ever ridden.

It does get tight and you have to love ruts, but man, it has some awesome jumps

and the dirt doesn't get much better.

Argyll MX in Dixon can be fun. Not very technical, but still very fun.

Sandhill in Brentwood is run by a bunch of hippies. Don't waste your time or

money.

Yes I did. It would be nice if 408mx open at 9am med-week. Any tracks open on Fridays?

Sand Hill is open, but that place is a joke.

There is a track at Carnegie OHV in Tracy. I think they prep the track on Thursdays,

so that may be worth a shot if you are desperate.

It only cost $5 bucks to get in, but you need current registration and a sparky.

If you really like MX tracks, Clubmoto.com is where you want to go. I suck on a MX track, but it is the nicest I have ridden. Vs A few years ago, Metcalf (baked adobe ruts), Ukiah (SX style track), Argyll (OK), Carnegie (OK, but if I were a MX guy, I'd go to Clubmoto).

There are a few tracks up in the Marysville / Sacramento area.

I'm headed to clubmoto next Thursday; maybe hotel, then Sandhill. I'm down to ride non tracks just don't like riding by myself.
