Vertex is a very good piston. they are cast, not forged like wiseco, but are stronger than OEM and also have an anti-friction coating on them that helps with wear on the cylinder. I run Vertex in my sons 125 and have been very happy the last 4 topends i used them. Used one in the last build of my sons 100 when we made it a 112. My 250 gets Wiseco. Not sure why, I just prefer a forged piston in a more powerful motor.

BTW, Vertex pistons are what KTM uses as OEM. The box just says KTM.

Vertex's four stroke pistons are forged. Their 2 stroke pistons are cast.

I used Vertex in my KX250 exclusively. They were a bit heavier and added a nice "flywheel" effect to the motor. I tried a forged piston which was much lighter and had to take it back out, just didn't run right.
