Gotta replace the gasket on the side of the motor of 2010 300xcw. Having trouble removing kickstarter off the spline. I know its kind of stupid question but is there a trick to this? WD40'd the spline, is there a clip on there? Seems to want to partially come off, but not all the way.

Any help or suggestions is appreciated

I had this exact same problem. The best way is to heat it up with a torch. Be careful though, the gas tank isn't to far away.

I had the same problem. I poured some brake fluid on that shaft, went to a lunch. When I came back, it started to wiggle. I used a pliers and finally it came off. Good luck with it?

I just went through this too. I was able to use a prybar and got between the kickstarter lever and the big washer behind it. It came right off. I put antisieze on the splines when I reinstalled it.
