Fuel tanf getting coulored

Recommended Posts

I have 2011 EXC 300.

As you all know the fuel tank is white - semy transparent.

Everithing was OK when I was using Motul oil for mixing gas.

Now I have started using CASTROL oil for mixing gas and the fuel tank has gotten coloured - light brown. It is still transparent, but it is not white like it used to be.

I gues the oil is to blaim.

Now the question is how can I claen the tank since it is coloured from the inside.

Does anyone had the same problem?

I'd try filling the tank with straight gasoline and letting it sit for a few days

It's petroleum discoloring the plastic, gas and oil will do it. No fix other than buy a black tank. Then you can't tell.

we wash houses with 12% industrial bleach I wonder if soaking a tank inside and out would help. I may try one of these days
