96mm piston?

Recommended Posts

Hi.

Does anyone know a source for a 96mm piston for the Z? Or 97mm?

I searched. Can't find good sources.

The experts on here seem to think that 96mm would work with a athena cylinder. I'd love to try.

Any help is apreciated.

What cams is he going to run? What CR?

Lots of folks post up about leaking head gaskets with the OEM cylinders and 95mm or larger cylinder bore.

Best of luck to your friends build.

I would be curious if the maxrpms are going to be facing the same problems with the head gasket sealing on their 455 stealth big bore kit? If not how would this compare to the 462 stroker kits? it would be pretty close displacement without splitting the case.

RHC 187's , rhc valves & springs all these in a ported head by SSW :)

Another one had a 95,5mm bb with zero issues .

Exactly.

Since i already have the Athena it would be way easier.

(97mm = 462cc BTW but thats is a no-go i think)

HP?

compared to 94mm bore

+4 stroker = + 29cc

+2 bore = + 19cc

How much HP does a +4mm stroker add to a 94mm bore?

All depends on other mods. (cam/valves/carb/pipe etc)

Does 453cc justify FCR41? (Keihin say 450cc and up)

+1 Valves?

What cams?

What riding?

Eddie said 1-1.5HP for the difference in 94mm to 95.5mm in some other thread.

Is is stroked too?

I'm very interested in the results either way.

No it's not stroked , he haven't receive the cylinder & piston yet .

Before he was running a 95.5mm cylinder , with ported head , fcr41mm , and HotCams(he had a acct failure..) , but the cylinder gasket hadn't any head gasket issue .
