Replace CRF450R motor back into the frame!

Recommended Posts

I spent all night getting the motor out, 3hrs of sleep later, can't get it back in! I've been at it all day. Took a break to have a cold one due to complete frustration. Anyone have some advice!

Pull the valve cover off, cover it with a plastic bag and tape it on. Come in from the right side of the bike at an angle. Just be careful you don't damage anything since you have the valve cover off.

Take the swing arm all the way off. Just drop the linkage bolt. Once that's out of the way, there's way more room.

yep

from the right side, with the bike between my legs looking forward(as if riding), i put the rear of the motor in first, tilt forward, turn motor counterclockwise to get 90% in, then tilt back and lift up to get it centerd in the mounts, most of the time i leave the valve cover off. but ive gotten it a few times with it on when i was short on time.
