ssr 160 trans question

Recommended Posts

Today i looked at a 2010 ssr 160 yx that im interested in buying. On the test ride noticed that when in 2nd gear trans felt notchy. Felt like the chain was slipping on the sprocket type feeling. 1st, 3rd &4th are perfect. This detered me from buying the bike. Any inputs on what may be wrong. Im sure in my mind 2nd gear is toast on both shafts. Is this common for this trans. Bike doesnt have that many hours. Looked on tbolt & found shift kit (both shafts & all gears). For 150.00. Any input would be helpful. Now that i found these parts for cheap i can fix myself. The bike is for a really cheap price & may change my mind. Jsut looking for inputs/ suggestions. Thanks..
