FMF Powercore 4

Recommended Posts

Put it on and find out.

The main jet is really easy to replace on your carb. There is a 17mm nut on your float bowl, unscrew it and your main jet is right there. use a quarter inch 6mm socket (I think) to unscrew it. Remember jets and your carb are made of soft metal so don't over tighten.

You may want to see what size jet you have and screw around a little with the jets and your butt dyno. It's fun.

Hey guys, I just bought an fmf powercore 4 slip on for my 2003 DRZ400e. Will I need to re-jet it if I only put on a slip on?

No, not if it is already jetted correctly

Has the snorkel been removed, if so has the needle setting been changed ..

Ok..you should remove the snorkel and place the DXP needle on clip position 5....That's going from the top/flat end of the needle..Stock is clip#4 ..For better performance the EMN needle is recommended..

For near sea level

160 main jet

200 main air jet

100 pilot air jet

EMN needle clip 3 or stock DXP needle clip 5

45 pilot jet

2.25 turns fuel screw

Remove the coast enrichener.http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=726110&highlight=coast+enrichener+removal

Do the Eddie Mod if you have any bogging..http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=890079&highlight=eddie+mod

To make easier pilot circuit tuning I recommend get a R&D Flex Jet remote fuel screw....http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&drKey=294&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thumpertalk.com%2Fforum%2Fshowthread.php%3Fp%3D10626773%23post10626773&v=1&libid=1314872488816&out=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.thumpertalk.com%2Fcatalogs%2FParts_Unlimited_Offroad_2009%2Fdefault.asp%3Fp%3D817&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thumpertalk.com%2Fforum%2Fforumdisplay.php%3Ff%3D25&title=DRZ400e%20Jetting%20-%20ThumperTalk&txt=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.thumpertalk.com%2Fcatalogs...ault.asp%3Fp%3D817&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13148725794081

Craigo's suggestion is best, although I like the coast enrichener. But I think close to best, is just using a 165 main. I think the stock main jet is a 145. I'd be suprised if a previous owner has not changed it.
