Yamaha Bear Tracker starting (electrical issue)

Recommended Posts

I have an '01 Yamaha bear tracker with an issue around the "neutral" recognition. It starts fine by the pull rope. The neutral light will not light-up (even though I know it is in neutral). I have two identical bear trackers, so I borrowed the neutral switch from the good quad and put it in the problem child. That didn't help the issue, so I don't think the neutral switch or the wire (which I have crimped tighter) are the issue. Also, when I pull the starter rope just a bit (enough to get the neutral light to light-up) then press the starter button simultaneously......you guessed it - the starter fires up and the quad starts. Any ideas out there?
