Two deployments ago.. Email received from home, to someplace I was at in a dark time and place in Iraq:

raining and I wanted to give (insert girlfriends name here) a ride home.. I took the Mustang. I know I was not supposed to drive it without you, but.. ....I did..…. And well. I wrecked it.. Was going down the road and kind of punched the gas in 2nd gear, back end stepped out, got into the soft shoulder and well, the right quarter panel hit a tree.
