Causes Of Bike Shaking its Head (tank slapper)

Recommended Posts

....I had the mother of all tank slappers on Saturday , I rolled off the throttle for a curve and just to settle myself before accelarating up a jump ,then all hell broke loose it was as if the front wheel came loose ,just as it stopped i was up the jump and off the side off it and had a huge crash , god knows how but i was unscaved . I'm positive I did nothing wrong , It was totally out of the blue , it was quite fast just clipping 4th on a RM 250. Any ideas what could be a cause of it ? Suspension settings maybe .. It'd be handy to know as I'm a bit worried about it happening again .

Can you remember how did you use your throttle? Because I have once flew over the bars because I just hit throttle off at once. In that moment bike had a terrible headshake.. and it took 9 months of my life because of two knee surgeries.

Head shake is usually caused by improper suspension set up.
Move your forks down in the tripple clamps a mm or 2?

What they said and check your steering head bearings and nut, then I would look at wheel bearings.
