sprockets : steel vs aluminum

Recommended Posts

i'm workin on my hooligan mod and i'm trying to find a sprocket for the gs500 hub that i'm gonna use, heres the problem i want to run a 42 tooth or a 41 as my second choice. the only sprockets i can find in that size are aluminum and i'm wondering how long will it last compared to a steel one ? anybody have any ideas for me ? thanks curt

I run AFAM rear alloy sprockets since I run the 5 lb rear tube it helps offset the extra rear wheel weight, they hold up well, some aluminum sprockets wear faster.

I put on a superspox, it's aluminum inside and steel for the teeth, best of both worlds light and durable.
