Any decent places to stay in Borrego Springs and ride to Ocotillo Wells

Recommended Posts

Planning on heading south in January to ocotillo wells. Are there any hotel motels that are close to where the open area riding areas are. We do not have plated bikes but was hoping there was somewhere close to the trails we could stay and get out to the open space.

Thanks

Desert Ironwoods is across from the Ranger station. I've never stayed in the room but they don't look very " nice". It is the only place that you can ride from and they have a pool. Borrego Springs has really nice places to stay but is like 20 miles from the riding area(with no plate).

Dude! if you had a plated bike this is the spot. http://www.thepalmsatindianhead.com/

My wife and I go here and ride from the Hotel through the State Park ( where the best stuff is) and then through the OHV then we return for a dip in the pool (yes even in the middle of winter) and then dinner and drinks. (awesome weekend)

With no license plate your options are limited:

The Blu Inn has really steped up their game.

This should keep you busy for a few minutes

Been there, done that......never again. They haven't been remodeled since 1946.

"Close" doesn't count in California. There probably aren't 10 motels in the state you can ride an OHV out of. Stay in town, RV park, plenty of motels up to 3-star resourts. Trailer to the OHV play ground. Better yet get a plated bike and ride all over the state park. Miles of great desert roads and trails.
