Cleaning efi fuel pumps

Recommended Posts

Has anyone worked out how to clean the fuel filters in the rmz fuel pumps yet, all the other manufactors make fuel filter kits so you just change the filter but clearly not with the rmz, I had 2 rmz 450's in 2010 and wrecked 2 fuel pumps as they got blocked and couldnt be cleaned properly as i race desert racing so there is obviously alot of dust around when refueling etc.. Im keen to go back to suzuki for 2012 i think they have sorted there transmission problems (which is why i changed) but still cant afford a new fuel pump after every desert race....

You can take the filter out inside tank and put one on the outside.Alot of ktm guys do this. The pump has been updated for 2012, so it may be easier to service than previous models. Are you using the cap over your dry-break? I think the issue is you are getting dirt into your tank- that isn't the fuel pump or the bikes fault.
