can anyone help me find a new cam for XL600R ?

seems they have gone the way of the Dodo.

I know 83-87 XR and XL cams will swap. can't find either one.

a few internet dealers still have it listed, but when you try to order, they realize it is NLA.

I can't believe there is nothing out there... so many bikes still living... so many dedicated fans/riders... ?

EDIT: a nice used one would work be great, too !

No I don't have any info on them but there standard Cam looks good enough for the job,,No special stuffs needed to use it..They must be doing something right if they've been in the business for 45yrs,.

I just bought a nice used stock cam from e-bay for65 bucks, I looked every day for about two weeks. They go fast but do come up fairly often

Thanks ... All this was for a friend.

I was suggesting he go with a Web Cam, but he solved the propblem the "old fashioned way"...

he bought yet another used XL600 !

ps- as of 12 noon Tuesday, Web had -one- core left that they could "sell you" and rebuild into a stock cam. so $$$$ + $122 core = your new cam.

EDIT... it's $195 + $122 ...sorry.

Having a spare bike would be great, I have never seen one around here that the owner didn't think was gold. The NW is an OK place to live, but as far as havin a good supply of old iron around, not so much.
