Engine Oil STRAINER SCREEN DOWN TUBE Question????

Recommended Posts

Anyone ever check the engine oil strainer screen on the down tube that's hooked to the front of the frame. I loosened all those bolts to make sure the screen wasn't clogged and of course it is perfectly clean.

The problem lies with lining up that bolt that the oil goes right through and the hole in the bolt has to line up exactly with the down tube or else no oil flow gets to the bottom of the engine. I marked the bolt head so hopefully I lined it up correct!!!

Can't remember if that bolt has a hole on each side of it not? I think it did. Anyone have any good ways of checking to make sure this bolt gets lined up correctly????

Yes I check my screen every other oil change. Usually it's 99% clean, just good piece of mind to see what shape my internals are in.

The bolt may have a 2 holes but the banjo bolt is machined to allow the oil to flow around the perimeter of the bolt. No worries about orientation.
