Good deal? 1997 Fantic

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody.

I've never done any trials riding before but I'm looking to get into it. So currently I'm in the process of finding a good bike. I'm trying to keep it cheap..

So I found a 1997 Fantic Section for $600. There's no subframe or rear fender and it's pretty beat up. It's quite a project.

Would that be a good bike? Are Fantic's reliable?

I also found a 2002 GasGas TXT 280 for $2000. It's in good shape. But I'm just looking for a starter bike at the moment.

What do you guys think?

I cant speak for anybody else , but if these are your only two to choose from, Forget you ever saw the fantic and buy the GG AS FAST AS YOU CAN !! The editions are the perfect starter trials bike... great motor, parts still available and still a very capable machine..... get it ASAP !!! CHAD

Yeah, I'd say go with the GG too. You're going to have trouble finding parts for the fantic, plus it's 5 years older! It's already a pain to get stuff for these bikes, but gas gas is pretty popular so it's a little easier.

That's a pretty good deal too if it is in good shape.
