I have an extra 03 motor sitting on the bench that is getting a fresh replate,rod,and misc parts needed. I wonder if this motor will fit in the 01 frame without any fitment issues. I know the earlier pipe might need to be used since 03 motor mounts changed the angle of the motor in the frame, but what about the rest??? Any real info would be helpful. Dont give me opinions please, just experience.

It should bolt right into your '01 frame, just use an '03 pipe and make the mounts work.

But I do like the sound of an AF conversion ... !

Since the 03's cylinder is different than the 01, the airbox may be an issue.
