yz450 vs sxv 550

Lots of people talking about how fast sxv 550 is vs the 450s. My bike is 2005 yz450f with wr 450 tyranny and 15 tooth front with 49 tooth rear sprockets with 17" wheels, headlights tail lights e-line stator, battery, and stock motor from intake to exhaust. Weighs 263lbs street legal with 2.8 gallons of fuel and makes 47.8hp at wheel on dynojet. Sxv is 2008 with 1800 miles. Derestricted and remapped by aprillia.

Well your down 100cc and a bit of power! So I would say the sxv is faster!

I run into these SXV's all the time at the Kart track. The 450's can hold their own until the Ape gets up in the RPM and starts to stretch it legs. Then you have no chance. They will just keep pulling away from you. On the kart tracks I ride they are actually at a disadvantage with the tight turns and short straights.

Ive ridden with four different sxv 550s and i can keep up with them all until around 95-100 mph when my bike runs out of gear. they slowly pull away and top out at 105-107. I know they make more power but power to weight is key. My bike curb weight is 263lbs on digital scales. sxv 550 curb is 313lbs and the average consenus is between 55-60 whp derestricted so lets say 57.5 is average.

yz450sm-47.8hp 263lbs power to weight ratio 1:5.5

sxv550-57.5hp 313lbs power to weight ratio is 1:5.4

now again my bike has the added weight on the e-line stator and the battery that could easily be removed lowering the weight another 9.5 lbs for the battery and 4lbs for the stator putting me at 250lbs

which is power to weight of 1:5.2 then if i added a little gearing and went down from a 49 to 47 I think it would be very close on any race track.
