S rims? Where to buy...

Recommended Posts

My front S rim is bent, I have relaced and tried to re-true but its just got a wobble somewhere that I can't fix. All the spokes and nipples looked fine when I re-built the wheel. The wobble is only noticible above 40mph on the street, but is preventing me from longer rides. I want to get a replacement rim and lace it up myself but I can't find an aftermarket anywhere. Seems like all the carriers carry a front rim for a RMZ, anyone know if that rim has the same spoke set up so I can lace it up to my DRZ hub? Any other options out there that are less that $350 for a new wheel?

How much and where is it out of true? Mine is out about .100" tir and with balancing is smooth at 80mph.

Rims are a common replacement item, and functionally the same S to E, so anything that has an application for a "DRZ400" will work.

Excel rims

You’re looking for an IC_408 rim in whatever color you want.

Application for that rim is RM125 97-00; RM250 97-00; DR-Z400 00-04; DR-Z400E 00-07; DR-Z400S 00-09, 11

Unless you want the Excel A60 design, then it is ICK_608
