How do I tell what year cylinder I have?!

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a 2003 kx 250 and it had the original cylinder replaced with a mystery year cylinder off of ebay. I believe I have it narrowed down to either a 02 or an 03 by using oem diagrams.. I guess what I'm trying to say is... is there a serial number or some stamp that would identify the cylinder year?

Yes a 4 digget number cast in to the cylinder by the reed cage. When you look up the part number on Kawasaki dot com that number matches the last 4 numbers of the part number. Post up the number on your cylinder if you can't figure it out and someone here will tell you.

Edit Chokey has it and is correct.

I have an '02, and my brother-in-law had an '03, so it was an easy answer...:bonk:
