good portable heater

Recommended Posts

workamping north of Seattle at the moment and I run the gas furnace as well as a 120v oil radiator heater. I got a big RV and Im going to need another heater so i can offset some of the gas bill. Any body have real good space heater that i should try out? The radiator heater is a bit weak, I might need something with a fan etc.

Generally electrical heaters end up costing you more money that running some type of fuel. It might not be in your case though because I'm guessing your running off smaller propane tanks. I use this one and I'm happy with it.

Just don't expect too much of it. The fan isn't going to blow like a table fan, but I haven't seen a space heater that has. I only use this heater out in a garage to keep me from freezing.

look at the one at the end of this thread. this is what we use in our trailer. We just leave it running all the time. No worry about fire or anything. It does not throw LOTS of heat all at once but it just slowly warms the area and then keeps it warm from then on.

I have a large oil heater (110V) that's about 18x24x4 or so, and that thing will heat a travel trailer without issue, unless you're above the arctic circle in a storm or have missing windows.

I've used it to heat a 800 sq ft house when it's sub zero and the furnace crapped out (Didn't want to pay a holiday weekend service call).

I have a oil radiator heater in my camper and it worked just fine even with temps in the teens in my camper this spring. The camper furnace burn alot of propane for the heat, but be carefull not to tax the wiring in your RV, there has been a few fires here.
