I don't have a lot of video but I do fairly well on the DR, the exception is I don't drift as well into corners, I drift out of them. And I usually go slow up to mud holes, pick my line and then go flat out. Rather than flat out and hope for the best :bonk:?

Been saying that for a while now. This place had me scared to death when I picked up my DR that it would suck for anything other then fire roads. I guess my DR missed that memo since my riding partner who I consider a solid rider can't shake me and he's on a Husky TE 510.

Not a great Enduro bike by any means but much more capable then most give it credit for. It's much easier to blame the bike, run out and sign loan papers then it is to be come a solid rider who knows and can get the fundamentals right.

Guess it helped that a could never turn to mommy and daddy in my younger days to run out and buy me the latest and greatest. Having to make do with what you had thought me a whole lot.

Totally agree.

I've been making the DR work offroad since some mates started buying enduro bikes. Before that it was a motard, mainly because none of my friends had dirt bikes, so I motarded it, lately it's been a pure dirt bike. I've been riding since I was 7 on very "pre-loved" bikes, mainly 70's enduro bikes. I didn't care what bike I had growing up, I just loved riding. The DR is the most "modern" bike I've ever had, and it surprises me how well it does offroad with a decent suspension setup.

I have some vids of some recent trailrides, I'll have to get around to uploading them.

Cheers for the links mate I like the vids and good on ya for riding that dr like a champ. I have no doubts of the capabilities of this bike with a good rider.

Wish I would have been running the video while I was riding the Hammer Run a couple months ago. That section where I had to pas two KTM riders and a guy on a big WR would have been a nice one to post. :bonk:

Havn't you figured it out yet? DR's turn single track into fire roads from all that track-carving torque spewing out the back. It's a one man logging operation :bonk:

Trailrider, that dr climb takes the cake. I would bet your average rider wouldn't make it up that no matter what bike they were on. It would seem the dr650 will go anywhere with the right rider which is good news for those looking to combine long distance traveling with traversing extremely rugged terrain.

I love my DR. :bonk: It really is a do-it-all motorcycle. The best motorcycle purchase I have ever made. I have put a bunch of miles on it and have seen a lot of neat country. It doesn't excel at anything but it's pretty damn good at everything. I keep hoping for something new and updated to be released to replace it with, but so far I haven't seen anything that I know would be as versatile as the mighty DR. Awesome pics. I want to ride all those areas. America has some of the most beautiful country I've never seen and it'd be a dream come true to travel North America and perhaps South America on a bike. This is exactly my intended use for the DR. I hope to have enough saved by end of 2012 to make it a reality. In the mean time I'll keep riding kangaroos
