VIN: help

Recommended Posts

Post some pics of your bike. :bonk: An S model will have a subframe all the way to the tail light/turn signals. And an E model will have a shorter subrame with no turn signals.

A K model will be kick start only.

Somebody correct me if Im wrong.

There were three basic models that year. Easy things to spot when trying to determine model, there are more differences of course.

DRZ 400 Kick start only off road only keihin carb

DRZ 400E electric start off road only keihin carb

DRZ 400S electric start, Mikuni carb for street legal EPA emissions, hi-low head light, horn, signals, stronger rear sub-frame to handle passenger, rear foot pegs.......

If you post a picture it can be identified easily.

No. There is no "K" model. There is no subscript for the "kicker model. "K" is part of the year code after 2000. A "kicker is simply DR-Z400

In 2000 it would be DR-Z400Y. "Y" is the year code.

2001 it would be DR-Z400K1 "K1" is the year code.

2002 it would be DR-Z400K2, and etc.

An "S" model for example is DR-Z400SK2 for 2002
