rm250 carb solenoid

Recommended Posts

guys i did a post about the TPS recently well i was wrong it is the carb solenoid that has come out of the carby...it seems to not want to thread back in....i was running fine with it flapping around hanging out with the exhaust pipe

Does this only really effect low down power as it is tied up with the powerjet and i dont know squat about that side of the carby.

Presently i have it zipped tied in place and it is fine but i would like to know what it does

if its just the solenoid your bike runs a tad richer. if the entire valve came off make sure

you don't have an air leak. (the needle of the valve closes a bypass).

function:

at idle or high rpm the bypass (power jet) is closed.

at acceleration (open throttle and low to mid rpm's) the power jet is open,

causing a richer mixture.

a little confusing is the inverted function of the solenoid - electr. power

on the solenoid closes the power valve.
