Yes all BV shims are 8id. Free piston is same as it is on 2011 and ICS is same as well.

Both outer and inner tubes and axel lugs are revised....new kxf style plastic spring seats.

what do you think of the valving on the new 450??better then 2011?

From what little I have rode the 12, I would have figured it would be much stiffer than it actually is. Just looking at the piston design and valving I thought the change in damping would be more substantial? Not to mention the linkage change that should transfer less weight to the front.

My opinion is that the 2011 was better when talk adout the stock valving but we have't made many tests yet. First time I saw a pro rider riding the new -12 model it wasn't very impressive. Both end bottomed out too easily and on braking bumbs bike was very nervous and kick really hard. But as I said we need more time to get the bike to same level as it was 2011.

That fork bottoming suprised me because there are two steps stiffer spring in -12 fork:thinking:

:smirk:

IMO the shock is way to soft.

2 stage, less shims and a smaller baseshim.

works well for slower riders up to a limited speed-level...:bonk:

the new linkage feels not good for me, i think the 2009 Linkage with 3mm shorter shocks (491mm) is the best for the Honda CRF.

the stiffer Forksprings works well on the new Bike but the Valving is much to soft , even with the new basevalve.

the 2011 fork needs only small changes to work well....(stiffer Base, limited Float, faster reb.)

We tested also 2009 lingage on 2011 and it was pretty good > stiffer and higher feeling. Some pros use 2010 lingages on 2011 bike but we haven't tested that.

Now we have new settings for 2012 but we are not able to test them untill february. We are going to Chile tomorrow to test stock bike to get more info.

We tested same shock reb stack we run 2011...way too stiff and there was singns of cavitation :smirk: Because of the new lingage 2011 settings won't work same way anymore but I bet 2012 bike will be really good bike when we get more tests.

I haven't seen 2012 KYB kit fork but I am pretty sure they use same pistons than previous years.
