Moto Jack Rack/Ultimate MX Hauler - Any issues with rust?

Recommended Posts

Was curious if anyone had any issues with their hitch carriers?

I live in a very small apartment and it's easiest to leave the rack on my truck when not in use. There's a tiny bit of rust on it from the rain. Do I need to worry? Does it need to be stored indoors when not in use?

The hydrauli jack will eventually blow a seal on you. Mine went after about 7 or so yrs of sitting outside in the rain. I also had a slab of steel welded in the so tongue so it would be more solid as I heard some of them can break at the worst time. Other than that they work really great.

These are the most solid bombproof hitch racks built, plus they work as a maintenance lift while at the track. Nice for pulling wheels off without worrying about dropping bike of a stand. Rust, just like anything else if it starts to look like a real issue, clean and treat it.If you can't replace the seal only, a replacement bottle jack should be under $20.
