YZ80 crank

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I bought a used crank off of ebay for an 85' YZ80 and i just realized that the connecting rod is longer than stock. How do I work with this? Thicker gaskets or double up the gaskets? Any advice is appreciated.

How much longer is the rod?

Are you sure the rest of the crank dimentions are identical?

If the rod is only 1 or 2mm longer then I'd say add a couple of base gaskets, but be forwarned that you may have issues with blowing out base gaskets.

If the rod is much longer then forget using it, unless you are willing to make a cylinder shim from some sheet aluminum.
