forgot to put oil on the piston pin

hello all just put new piston in my bike rebuilt it all back up then relised i forgot the put abit of oil on the piston pin :bonk: will this be a problem as im sure oil will get to it when the engine gets fired up?

If you haven't already done it, change the oil. When you add the new oil, the crank will be partially submerged in oil. A few stabs of the kichstarter and it'll be oiled.

I agree you'll probably be fine, but I have to share this instant response from my dad. He's been rebuilding car engines for 60 years.

His solution:

Put the oil in the engine.

If it's an oil-in-frame model, make sure there's plenty in the crank case.

Take off the tank, plug the breather holes, and turn the whole bike upside down (it's best to have a few helpers for this step). You will get oil to the pin. Turn it over and kick it through a few times. Drain excess if necessary.

Seems like pretty cool solution and it didn't even cross my mind.
