Everyone I know that got an e-start 2T has taken the starter off after having problems with it. It seems to be more trouble than it is worth on a bike that starts half way through one kick, and it adds about 12 pounds to the bike (starter and battery).

I like my starter, needed a new brush holder and battery since 2009. It breaks I'll fix it.

When your worn out. Blow a hill climb a d don't have to kick it. Priceless.

I wouldnt let lack of e-start keep you from a good deal if you find one on a 300. Unless of course you have some knee issues or something like that. I regularly start mine on the stand by standing at the side of it and using my left leg, it starts that easy. I understand though some advantage to an e-start if you stall on a hill or steep off-camber.
