Heating bearing race to mate cases?

Just did crank bearings in a wr 450 and the rite half is supposed to be a slip fit but when i dry fitted them it seems like its gonna be pretty tough sliding the crank through. Putting the bearings in i used the sweat method, dry ice and oven. Worked great. So im assuming i'll need to heat up the inner race of the crank bearing and i see people writing about not torching the race directly using a socket? how does this work? does the socket have to be an exact fit to the inner race, do i torch the socket while its in the race or before? how long do i heat it for? i used the crank puller to seat it in the left half but the nut doesnt fit the rite side. thanks!:bonk:
