KTM EXC 300 shock length

Recommended Posts

i know the shock for the newer model for the 10 and 11 ktm exc or xc-w or TE berg models have altered shock length.... i believe 7mm shorter correct me if i am wrong!!!

how do you measure this? is it fully extended ??

Also does that mean if is shorter 7mm the whole travel is less by 21mm???

for a supposed 3:1 leverage ratio

it's normally eye to eye length however often other changes are made so it doesn't always add upto a 21mm lower seat

sometimes they change the angles and location points etc, but if you just moving it from one bike to another that doesnt matter, its only the length that matters.

so to move it from one bike to the other it doesnt matter if its longer (it will never reach full compression)

if its shorter your limiting travel ! Right??

if it longer can you make it work with just a revalve???

if your moving a shock from one ktm to another, i would make sure the lengths are the same(via shortening if needed) unless you want a shorter shock to lower the bike, but then you must ensure the wheel wont go past the rear mudguard.

So total travel is important as well. You dont want a longer shock than std.
