1998 dr 350 stalling when shifting in gear

Recommended Posts

I just put a new man rack on my 1998 dr 350 started it up to let it run since I have not rode in a few weeks. now when I put it in gear it stalls. I thought it might be the clutch going but the bike does not lung when I put it in gear. Are any wires near the tail lights that could have been screwed up?Just realized it will not start in gear with the clutch in. Is that Normal?

Does the neutral indicator work properly? Your kick stand switch or the wiring to it might be bad. If the bike believes the kick stand is down, the engine will not start or run in gear. It's a safety feature.

It's easy enough to fix. Just check the wiring and the switch.

Report back if you figure it out.
