help, cant get my bike to start.

Recommended Posts

i have an 06 kx250f. i bought the bike used from a friend of mine. when i got it it would start great cold, but once i rode it and it got hot i couldnt crank it back up without pullin it and popping the clutch. eventually it got to the point where when i rode it as soon as i took my hand off the throttle it would shut off, then it wouldnt even crank when i pulled it. i took it to the local shop and got the motor tore down, he said the valves were fine. the cylinder was out of round though. so i put a new jug and piston in and still it will cold crank but not when its hot. although it runs perfect. what could be the proble.?

i agree maybe clogged or too small a pilot jet. also just for hell of it change plug and clean or replace air filter if it clogged/dirty/old. i had a old/worn/clogged air filter once and i could actually hear the damn bike weezing trying to get air through the filter to the carb. just a thought.
