Budget Rider Needing Consolation

Recommended Posts

Motocross is so frickin expensive. I pushed old parts to the limit because I couldn't afford new ones. Now I can't even get my bike to run... :bonk: Somebody please say something to make me feel better.

your 17...you should be working, save a little money, get it running. race when you can.

something to remember - upkeep is always cheaper than repair

Well you have roof over your head, food and your health and even own a bike. Be grateful for what you have. Believe me it could be worse. Happy Holidays.

2005 Honda CRF250R

I'm gonna guess valves? Do I win?

more than likely, the first year hondas were valve killers

Could be worse...friend of my nephew worked his butt off all summer as a block tender, saved every cent he made, pinched and scrimped, found a leftover '10 brand new KTM 300, sold his previous bike, bought it, brought it home (never rode it), parked it in the garage.

Garage burnt that night.

Bike isn't covered by homeowners.

No bike, no money to even buy a clapped out turd.

Ouch... If that happened to my new bike I would be devastated... I can't imagine how he feels...

Be glad you don't have a boat! Boats are way more expensive than dirtbikes!

Where in Florida are you? If you're near Gainesville, I'd be happy to help you get your bike running.

A friend of mine pushed a top end too long, the piston went sideways and turned a $200 dollar job (piston, rings, gasket etc) into a $2000 dollar job (head, cylinder, crank, and piston, rings gasket etc).

So, you never answered, is it valves?
