MSR Fuel Screw O ring/s

Recommended Posts

My Yamaha YZF250 2008 has an MSR adjustable fuel screw.

There is an O ring in a groove on the shaft. but is there also supposed to be another O ring on the tip, like on a regular fuel screw?

The bike runs ok, but wont idle and hard starting hot sometimes

Yah, should be a spring, washer and o ring on the end. Lots of times it just gets stuck up in the hole n doesn't come out with the screw.

I was assuming that the only O ring was the one on the shaft

so that is good for me, I have found a problem and got a new O ring now.

Maybe she will run properly now

thnks

What is the best/simplest way to get the oring to come out once the needle/spring/washer are out. It probably isn't necessary to get it out to inspect it, but my guess is that it isnt in there properly, or it would have come out with the fuel screw.

Suggestions?

next q4estion- does any6ne know the size of the Oring?

I fitted one and it idled good when cold, so I warmed her up and tried to set the fuel screw. Now it seems much better starting but its not set up properly yet.

I put 3 sizes of O ring so I'm not sure which is the right one.

I think this one is 1/.3, and the others are 1/2.5, 1/3.5
