2000 YZ250 fork swap to SSS

Recommended Posts

Can somebody tell me what I need to do to swap to SSS forks (2006 and up style) to my 2000 YZ250? I'd like to know if any parts are needed other than just the triple clamps and forks. Do I need to change the front wheel and/ or brake caliper?

You need the SSS 48MM forks(of course), 2006 or later triple clamps off a YZ250 2-stroke or the 450 4-stroke, wheel spacers, SSS front brake caliper bracket and the axle. Note that the early caliper will bolt up to the late model fork bracket.

I put 2007 forks on my 2001 YZ250. Pretty much bolted up. I ground down the stock fork stops on the headstock a bit and relocated the CDI unit to get it out of the way. I also rerouted the brake line but used the stock one. No wheel spacers, brackets or other things required.
