I'm rebuilding a 2001 yz426 motor that needed a new crankshaft. I got it apart, split the crankcase and swapped the crankshaft no problem. Bolted it together, bolted in the shift segment and shift guide, then slide in the shift rod. Just to test it out I tried putting the shift lever on the left side but I can't get it to shift through the gears. My question, is at this point, should I be able to shift the motor through all the gears, or does it stay locked into neutral for some random reason until I get something else on there??
