Hey guys, first of all Merry Christmas!

I have a quick question about making premix for my smoker. I'm using Amsoil 50:1 premix oil and prepared my gas using 32:1 mix. A guy at the shop told me I should use less oil because of the fact that the Amsoil oil is designed for 50:1, is this true? He told me to use 3oz per gallon, I'm considering doing that because my bike is really smoking like a b**ch.

What difference does 50:1 premix oil make when I have to prepare my gas, and would going 3oz per gal be safe?

What bike and how are you riding?

If your riding an 85-100 in MX with the throttle constantly on the stop, might stick with the 32:1. If your trail riding on a 125 or larger, 40:1 or 50:1 will be plenty.

Your bike is smoking a lot because your jetting is too rich. Even with 32:1 it won't smoke all that much with proper jetting.

Amsoil is great stuff, what I use in my bike. 40:1 and jetted right, puts out very little smoke. Do some searching and check out the jetting stickies.

I'm riding a 2005 RM250, using amsoil 100:1 oil, it's not 50:1 as I said before. I ride trails mostly, I'm pretty hard on the gas but nothing like MX or such. Just some pinning the throttle now and then
