the motion pro throttle is very good, i've had one for a year now, no complaints what so ever. Like Sheriff said, much cheaper alternative.

i had a wirtz bearing throttle before that and the tube separated from the actual throttle mechanism.

Actually, their website makes no mention of 1/4 turn for the Vortex...:bonk:

There's a PDF that explains how it works... for it to be an actual "1/4 turn" they would have to make a specific model for almost each bike.

All aftermarket throttles are stock replacements...

I just took some measurements on my 2005 and 2012 YZ125's.

The stock throttle IS a quarter turn throttle (90° rotation from closed to WFO)

Cable travel is 39.2mm. By multiplying the Vortex's ratio of 1.90 by 39.2mm, you get a rotation of roughly 74.5°, or 15.5° less rotation from closed to WFO. The G2 claims a 10 degree increase (more like 9 degrees actually, 90° x 10%), so the Motion Pro provides an increase that is 55% more important than the G2. The throttle is opening more quickly, but throttle control is more difficult. I'm gonna be ordering the Motion Pro throttle.

Tell us how you like your G2!
